Tactile typography uses physical tangible elements to create a typeface. In this Mexican Food Festival poster I used the concept of Dia De Los Muertos with its infamous elements like the sugar skull and marigolds to curate a beautiful event poster.
I hand-sculpted bone-like typography out of clay. I tried to emulate an actual anatomical approach to forming the bones paying close attention to the femur (upper thigh bone), and phalanges (bones and joints of the hands/fingers).
The nature of the event played an integral role in the elements I used - from colour to food elements - everything was carefully considered and applied.
